This is such a great gratitude exercise. It’s my third time doing a “50 Things That Make Me Happy” post. I love writing these lists – it truly feels therapeutic and quickly brings me into a state of gratitude. And most aren’t things at all, but rather, experiences. I recommend creating your own list, just spilling things onto paper and keeping it in a journal or somewhere to look back on. It’s a simple activity that can get you into a happy, high vibrational state. It makes you pause and actually look for things to be thankful for, and that’s always healthy to do. ✨
A Fun Gratitude Exercise…
50 Things That Make Me Happy [2022 Edition]
- Snuggles with Avaya and Asher, their laughter, everything about them.
- When they say “Mom, I love you.” ❤️
- Road trips with Aaron and the kids.
- Having Aaron’s love and support.
- Our dog.
- [Uninterrupted] phone conversation with my mom, my dad, my sister.
- Holiday meals with family.
- Warm water with lemon in the morning.
- Rolling out the yoga mat before the sunrises.
- Getting together with friends… and getting all of our kids all together too.
- Getting daily fresh eggs from our chickens.
- Working on this blog.
- Cooking and feeding my family healthy meals.
- Making healthi[er] desserts for our family.
- Freedom and flexibility.
- Houseplants.
- Gardening.
- Flowers in the spring – long-stem tulips and peonies.
- The first few sips on coffee in the morning, before it turns cold and I have to re-heat it 3 times.
- A good book.
- The feeling of being productive.
- Getting in an early morning workout before anyone else in the house wakes up.
- Soaking up the summer sun on our back deck.
- A clean and well-stocked fridge.
- A freshly vacuumed floor… and washed if I’m really productive.
- An organized house.
- Podcasts.
- Hot showers [with a little burst of cold at the end for the health benefits].
- Soft comfy leggings with a long tee or oversized sweater.
- Essential oils.
- The first signs of spring – the sound of peepers.
- Composting.
- When all the laundry is clean and finally put away.
- Old photographs.
- Exploring the woods.
- The babbling stream on our property.
- Traveling.
- Meditation.
- A good documentary.
- A fresh notebook or journal.
- Monthly planners.
- Making lists… and crossing things off.
- Family photo shoots… though I have yet to get any of the photos printed and hung on the walls. 😳
- Dry brushing my skin before a shower.
- Epsom salt baths.
- Using my homemade Calendula oil.
- Goal setting.
- Dancing to great music.
- Having money in the bank.
- Pondering about life and the universe.
