I wrote my original “50 Things That Make Me Happy” post about 4 years ago (you can read it here). Since then, I’ve become a wife and a mom of TWO… wow, that happened fast!! It feels like it was only months ago that I sat down and typed my original list. So, I thought it was time to update it because let’s face it, becoming a mom changes EVERYTHING… in the best of ways ❤️
While I’m still grateful for everything on my original list, my priorities and the things that bring me the most joy certainly have changed… like the two little munchkins I’m watching on the baby monitor as I write this 🥰
50 Things That Make Me Happy
When my daughter wraps her arms around me a squeezes so tight. I’m hoping she does this forever!
Baby boy’s morning smiles. So far, he’s definitely a morning person!
Night-time snuggles with my girl in the rocker before laying her down for bed.
Seeing how incredible our dog is with the kids. For each milestone they reach, whether it be sitting up for the first time or taking their first steps, I swear our Boston Terrier gets just as excited and proud as we do.
Hearing my kids giggle and laugh.
Waking up before anyone else in the house and getting that first hour of the day to myself for my morning routine.
When both babies happen to nap at the same time. It’s rare, but amazing when it does happen!
A few hours of uninterrupted sleep. Forget a full nights’ sleep… I’ve lost all hope for those. Just give me a few hours!
Peonies. I want to plant them all over my property for an endless supply of fresh cuts.
My morning cup of coffee.
Morning stretches on the yoga mat.
Warm, sunny summer days.
A weekend trip to the farmer’s market.
Working on this blog.
A well stocked fridge and pantry.
A glass of yummy kombucha.
Dark chocolate with almonds.
Leggings. I live in them. I may never wear jeans again.
My vision board and setting intentions for the future.
Listening to a podcast or audiobook.
Growing vegetables in my garden.
Houseplants.
A long hot shower.
Lemons. So bright, colorful and refreshing.
Notebooks and pretty stationary.
Being productive.
Getting in a workout.
Baking (my favorite thing right now is the Lemon Blueberry Bread).
A clean house.
Being with family.
Get togethers with amazing friends.
A walk around Target or HomeGoods.
Wearing sunglasses.
Sitting on the back deck soaking up that vitamin D.
Strolling through Boston (our favorite city).
A fresh coat of nail polish.
The chirping sound of spring peepers. My favorite sign of spring.
Reading.
A delicious and healthy home cooked dinner.
Making lists… and crossing things off.
Essential oils.
A package delivery on the front porch.
Traveling and exploring the world.
A freshly made bed.
Looking at the stars at night with my daughter. We say “goodnight stars” before bed.
Planning for events and holidays.
Thunderstorms… but nothing too serious. High winds terrify me!
The smell of fresh cut grass.
A great music playlist.
Early dewy mornings.
Writing this list just made me happy. What a fun gratitude practice! I highly recommend that anyone and everyone sit down and write out things that make them happy. It’s such a positive feeling to put light on the good things be thankful for what you have.
