I love fall. The changing colors, crisp air, decorated doorsteps, pumpkin everything… there’s so much to love about this season.
10 Fall Time Wellness Tips
1. Indulge in pumpkin.
Pumpkin is one of the world’s most nutritious superfoods, so go ahead and indulge in it’s deliciousness. Whatever way you choose to enjoy it, whether it be in a latte, muffin, bread, or pie, be sure that it actually contains pumpkin and not artificial flavoring. Better yet, make your own! My favorite at-home fix is pumpkin waffles. It’s beyond easy: I just add a heaping spoonful of canned pumpkin to my waffle mix (decrease the amount of water put in by just a little) and top it off with some cinnamon and nutmeg. So good!

2. Eat the apples.
You already know apples are full of all sorts of goodness. Now’s the freshest time for getting them in. Boost your immune system before the cold season begins. Load up. Get some apple cider. Bake some apple pie. Make some apple sauce, or a juice concoction. My favorite juice to make with apples is beet, carrot, apple, lemon.
3. Get some color therapy.
The hues of this season are mood boosting.
4. Get outside.
With the cooler, crisp air, it’s the best time to get outside and get active. Go for a hike, a bike ride, or even just a walk. Soak up the nice weather while you still can.
5. Use the season’s spices.
Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, turmeric, ginger… these are the spices of the season. Utilize them for their warming effects and for their many health benefits.
6. Make homemade soups.
It doesn’t get much cozier than homemade soup.
7. Spend time with friends.
Summer tends to be a busy time filled with hectic schedules and summer vacations. Things usually slow down in the fall. With football season now in full swing and the return of your favorite tv shows, it’s a good time for catching up.
8. Get [back] into routine.
With the kids back in school, now is a good time to establish (or re-establish) a normal routine.
9. Let go of the past.
Just as the trees let go of their leaves, we too can let go of our unnecessary baggage this time of year. Take stock of what’s important to you in your life, and let go of the things that are holding you back or stunting your growth.
10. Get “rooted.”
As the trees do let go of their leaves, they can focus more energy on their root systems. It prepares them for the winter and renewal in the spring to follow. Now is a great time for us too to get “rooted” and prepare our bodies and minds for winter and focus on who we want to be in the spring.
