Copycat Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs just in time for Easter 🐰
Reese’s are definitely my all time favorite candy. I can never seem to pass them up when they’re nearby. It definitely helps now though to have this recipe in my arsenal. I’ve been making them at home the last couple weeks, and don’t feel the slightest bit bad about eating them. With just a handful of ingredients, in a very short amount of time you can have homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs that taste JUST like Reese’s, without any of the junky ingredients.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs
Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- 2/3 cup almond flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and coconut oil. Once well combined, add in the almond flour. Stir thoroughly.
- Form dough into approximately 1” size balls, then press them to form egg shapes. Lay them flat on a parchment paper covered sheet pan.
- Place in the freezer for approximately 10 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl (approximately 1 minute).
- Remove the peanut butter eggs from the freezer and dip into the chocolate. The chocolate coating should harden immediately. Place back into the refrigerator or freezer until ready to eat!
